The listing says $79. The checkout says $147. Fees, order processing, "service." I know this and I still click like I am going to be surprised.
Austin looks cheaper until you add parking at Moody Center or an Uber that surges when 15,000 people leave at once. Houston will hit you on the ticket and then on the drive if you are coming from anywhere that is not already inside the Loop. Dallas is the same math with more concrete.
Floor can be a lie. A "cheap" floor seat in a room that big is just standing in a crowd that paid more than you to be closer. I have done it. I will do it again for the right voice.
I am not writing a policy paper. I am saying the night costs what it costs, and I budget for the fake number plus the real one. If I cannot make the real one, I do not go. There will be another tour. There is always another tour.
The part I hate is not the money. It is pretending the listing price was ever the price.
